The CEDC and the Town of Huntersville

The Centralina Economic Development assisted the Town of Huntersville secure grant funding for the construction of a bridge overpass over Verhoeff Drive into the North Mecklenburg Industrial Park.
The overpass will allow for the expansion of the park, enhance traffic movement and safety from Verhoeff Drive across NC 115 and the Norfolk-Southern rail line, and accommodate existing and future development in the corridor.
The initial plant expansion will create 179 new jobs in the area.
In 2005 Huntersville, Cornelius, and Davidson joined together purchase and operate the industrial park. The communities are trying to attract new jobs and a corporate tax base to offset the costs to the public of a growing number of homes.
The Lake Norman Regional Economic Development Corporation is marketing the North Mecklenburg Industrial Park.
