Link-Up Financing, Support Services and Grants for Small Business Development
On February 9,2010, the Centralina Economic Development Commission co-sponsored and event with the Mooresville South Iredell Economic Development Corporation that brought business leaders from around the region together to learn about tools to support existing businesses as they face a tougher credit environment and tight markets.
Energy Incentives for Businesses
On September 22, 2009, Gaston County Economic Development Commission and Centralina COG, Community & Economic Development co-sponsored and event that brought business leaders from around the region together to learn about "Green" Incentives offered thought the State Energy Office as well as hidden "Energy" tax credits for industries & business.
Link-up III With Stimulus Grants
On May 6, 2009, at the Charles Mack Citizen Center, Mooresville, NC, the CEDC convened for a workshop to learn about the American Recovery Act 2009. Speakers from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development and USDA Rural Development presented new programs and funding made available through the ARRA 2009.
Ethanol Roundtable
On July 31, 2008, Centralina Community & Economic Development Commission,
Centralina Clean Fuels Coalition, NC State Energy Office, and the NC Biotechnology
Center cosponsored an Ethanol Roundtable at The Charles Mack Citizen Center in
Mooresville, NC. Beyond setting the stage for where we are in North Carolina
today, this workshop succeeded in educating participants on key challenges and
opportunities ahead through expert speakers and panelists.
Link-Up: Building Partnerships for Redevelopment of
Commercial Districts
On March 28, 2008, we hosted workshop offering instruction on redevelopment
of a commercial district or neighborhood commercial development. The emphasis
of this workshop was connecting local leaders with the resources to help bring
these projects to life.
Link-Up: Financing and Grant Extravaganza
On January 23, 2008, we hosted a workshop that offered advice on statewide
resources for finding grants to fund community projects.
The Summit on Growth
On September 20, 2007 over 200 hundred participants gathered to discuss; Infrastructure,Education
and Workforce Economic Development and how to address these challenges and how
the regional growth will affect schools, road and jobs.

Setting the Stage for Commercial Development
On December 12, 2006 we convened a workshop that featured award-winning case
studies from around the region and discussed the steps necessary to begin the
process of commercial development.
Connect: Re-Cycling Land: A Brownfield
Redevelopment Workshop
September 12 , 2006 we gathered to learn about grants, tax credits
and other programs that can be used to develop Brownfield’s. This was
an opportunity to learn what other towns in the region are doing to address
Brownfield redevelopment.
Connect: A Best Practices Workshop for Small Area Economic Development
On June 27, 2006 colleagues from around the region join us to learn about replicable
development tools for small areas, and to discuss available funding for new programs
with representatives from USDA, CDBG, Self Help and more.
